Berliner Luftbrücke-Stipendium – The Berlin Airlift-Scholarship
The Berlin Airlift-Scholarship
In 1988, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, the Steuben-Schurz-Society founded the Berlin Airlift-Scholarship. This scholarship program was created in the memory of the 32 American and 36 allied pilots and crew who risked and sacrificed their lives for preserving the freedom of West Berlin. In collaboration with the Fulbright Commission, the Steuben-Schurz-Society awards this scholarship to young American university students who are seeking the support for a larger research project enabling them this opportunity for a time period at a German University.
